Samsung_apple_Galaxy_s4_patents

Okay, it is kinda embarrassing and now boring to hear and read about these patent suits between these two, it is no longer shocking as it used to be.

But this new suit by Apple Inc against Samsung Electronics should shock you, because it is targets Google’s Android.

Apple has sued Samsung for $2 Billion because of the later infringing on five Apple patents related to smartphone functions.

Samsung is alleged to have infringed on;

– the slide-to-unlock feature that prevents accidental use;

-contextual links with contact information;

-word correction when typing;

-universal search of the phone;

– Internet and background syncing of data.

Now the most interesting part about this features is that they are software related and many devices are using them that you’d hardly think they were someone’s patents in the first place but Apple asserts that they are.

But if someone stole these patent, it was Google’s Android, these are features on Android operating system.

If Apple wins, I think Samsung should ask or demand for payment from Google.

steve jobsThere is an email the Samsung lawyers are using to sue  Apple for $7million that has  the late Steve Jobs that says mentioning a “2011 Holy War” against Android. The email noted areas such as speech and cloud syncing of user data where Apple was falling behind Android.

I have a feeling if Apple wins this sue we are going to see it’s new devices using those (and several other) features banned for sale and this would be a huge blow to competition.

Let me pray their loss, I love Samsung and Google products….
