Do you know that someone somewhere determines and makes decisions for us in line with the way we are to think and in the end act?

Decisions are made on our behalf through the use of media to shape our perspectives and views.

Do you know that blue was not even the original boy’s color? And that pink/red was the preferred color for boys before?

In 1940, the gender colors changed from what was Belgian and Catholic German culture to traditional French culture where pink was moved to girls and blue to boys. It didn’t change until the 1950s when some big advertising campaigns pushed the color pink as a feminine color exclusively for girls and this was due to the influence France had in style and fashion.

Do you think you are an independent thinker?

Independent thinkers have not yet interacted with any form of communication and information-sharing platforms, and their views are independent of influence and dilution.

But, for one who has interacted with any form of media, you are already corrupted by its perceptions and views hence being influenced by it.

Media makes or picks decisions, then finds ways to make sure that we receive them as our ideas and our decisions yet in actual truth none of it originated from us.

Even with writing this blog, I am sharing ideas and views that are going to influence you in certain ways towards the media.

So why blue jeans and not purple? Because media has made sure that that is the color preferred by many, making sure that people think about jeans in the blue color only.

Now I wonder, what are you doing that wasn’t your original thought but because you encountered media, your views have changed. Also, are you now wondering how to have your story told by the media, so you can influence perceptions and views?
