As I write this, my spirit has been lifted by the music I’m listening to.

Earlier today I went in to what I call a mini depression. This is the state when I want to go back to my bed and hide from the world, have a food strike and watch a lot of movies.

So as the above desire had started clipping on me this morning, I almost left my desk to the HR with the thought of asking for a day off.

Instead I decided to say a little pray and asked him to fulfill his promises to take care of whole my worries. He answered but as you know he doesn’t answer like men do, he just uses what you have and solves your problem.

In my case he used my music. I feel lifted, and my burden is gone. It is like am listening to extraordinary music yet this is my every day music.

I have heard of Music Therapy – is the use of interventions to accomplish individual goals within a therapeutic relationship by a professional who has completed an approved music therapy program.[1] Music therapy is an allied health profession and one of the expressive therapies, consisting of a process in which a music therapist uses music and all of its facets—physical, emotional, mental, social, aesthetic, and spiritual—to help clients improve their health – as per Wikipedia.

Music therapy has been found to have numerous significant outcomes for patients with major depressive disorder, but mine was not that a big thing – but all thing big started as small things.

The gospel music I’m listening to, is soft and hard rock that has significantly improved my mood. My depression growth rate for today has gone down to zero, even the headache I felt has disappeared.

The more I listen, the lesser I think about the things that were depressing me and the good thing is – it is gospel music – I am listening to artist preaching to me using music. Like this song by Chris Tomlin – Our God, there promises in that song are for everyone to have.

Music speaks to situations and answers many questions, mainly one that has great lyrics.

Music has improved my mood and cognitive functions, now am going to improve on my music listening habits. I have been listening for the sake but this time round I’m going to start listening for my sanity and health.
