There was a dream, an ambition that at 30 years I would have accumulated great wealth and would be riding on the bus of retirement, but this is not the case. It looks like those who are called to do great things are called at 30. Those who have been remembered and used as examples in stories started their greatest work at 30. Like ;

Saul  and David who became kings when they were 30 1 Samuel 13:1, 2 Samuel 5:4 .  Joseph became 2nd in command to Pharaoh at 30 Genesis 41:46 . Jesus officially started his ministry at age 30 Luke 3:23. Ezekiel was called by God as a prophet at 30 Ezekiel 1:1. John the Baptist was age 30 when he came out from the wilderness to pave the way for the Messiah (Jesus). Even the Priests could officially serve their ministry roles once they turned 30 Numbers 4:3

It looks like my retirement plans have been halted, and the need to continue with my work is necessary – after all the great wealth has not been accumulated yet and I love what I do.

So as I celebrate this milestone, I give God His glory for saving and keeping me alive to see 30. For family that has stood with me all through my many business ventures and ideas (mother you are star, you have seen all the ideas and helped implement them) in my 2os. And friends who have stayed and those who have left. You guys have made me the woman I am today

I might not look the age 30 and would surely like to accept the figures being thrown at me but I am a proud gal. I like the years I have accumulated and the lessons they have taught me. I like the face and body I wear of innocence and youth but well knowing it’s carried with maturity and experience.

What my 20s have taught me is that, as you get older, you gain more perspective, you gain a better understanding of what’s important and what you should be focusing on. And that is the greatest gift of age.

To myself at 30!

    If there’s one thing i have been constantly reminded of in my 20’s (It’s a number throwing around day); It’s that you can cheat lots of things but not experience. And experience when well harnessed is but the beginning of a whole new age of disruption. I thought i would retire at 30 too. Reading this makes me realize i could use a few lessons from you. Here is to turning 30 over and again.
